The Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project has extended its full completion target to March 2030. K-RIDE is shifting towards the European Train Control System (ETCS) for all four corridors, with the signalling upgrade aimed at supporting future expansion and higher-speed operations.
Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, SWR is upgrading nine Bengaluru stations, including Cantonment, Yesvantpur, Whitefield and Kengeri. The modernisation includes improved passenger lounges and better multimodal integration to make transfers between rail and other transport systems smoother.
Together, these projects could significantly transform Bengaluru’s railway network. The focus now remains on completing construction, improving connectivity and delivering faster, more efficient passenger services.
